AAAAAAOne Stop Career Center
Hitting the Road

Look for the Mobile Career Center van in your neighborhood coming soon. The One Stop Career Center is expanding access to job seekers. The van will be used for visiting libraries, community centers, and job fairs throughout the county.

The Mobile Career Center provides the perfect bridge for job seekers who cannot easily visit the One Stop Career Centers in Seaside and Salinas. The Mobile Career Center will provide assistance to job seekers with resume writing, job interviewing skills, and expand access to specialized job databases.

AAAArea Agency on Aging Seeks Members for Advisory Council

The Area Agency on Aging is seeking Monterey County residents to sit on its Advisory Council.

The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is the unit of County government responsible for planning, assessment of needs and provision of services for older individuals in Monterey County. The Advisory Council serves as advocate for older individuals and performs evaluation of policies, programs and services.

Retirees, persons with disabilities, minorities and residents of rural areas of the county are particularly encouraged to apply. Council members serve a three year term and meet every other month on the third Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Meetings are held throughout the County. Names of Council applicants will be submitted to the Board of Supervisors for approval before appointment.

Public Baby Shower and Health Fair
CAPCLabor of Love Celebration

To learn about local resources available to pregnant and parenting women visit the 17th annual labor of love celebration. This baby shower and Health fair will be held on Thursday September 2 , 2010 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at Sherwood Hall 940 North Main Street in Salinas. Food, fun, raffles of 40 care seats and strollers, gifts, and educational booths will be available. Dads are welcome too! Admission is free.

CAPHomeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)

This program is designed to prevent homelessness and to rapidly re-house individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The goal of this program is self-sufficiency; therefore, each household’s eligibility is determined based on the actual household need.
